RPT: American Airlines and US Airways Will Announce Merger, Becoming the World's Largest Airline
Fox Business Network's Gerri Willis reported that American Airlines and US Airways will merger to become the world's largest airline. The $11 billion dollar deal was said to be
approved by the boards already. The official announcement is expected tomorrow.
American Airlines has been bankrupt for some time. Willis suspects they will likely merge to American's frequent flier program. What's the impact on passengers? Willis said ticket prices will rise over time and there may be a loss of service in smaller destinations.
