Woman Loses Engagement Ring on NYC Subway ... and Gets It Back 2 Months Later!
Amid the hustle, bustle, pushing, shoving, and general chaos that is the New York City subway system, every now and then a story surfaces that illustrates the best of the human condition. The New York Post reported today on a woman who lost her three-karat diamond engagement ring on a train two months ago, assuming she'd never get it back. But, two months later she saw the same station agent who was working that day, and asked if anyone had turned in the ring.
When he said "yes" and showed the woman the ring, encased in a bag, his answer would have shocked any New Yorker. He told its owner that the woman who had found and turned it over didn't speak English very well, but told the agent that she knew immediately it was an engagement ring and that its recipient would undoubtedly come looking for it.
What a feel-good story!
