Undercover Agent With Fake Bomb Passes TSA Screenings at Newark Airport

An undercover TSA inspector with an improvised explosive device in his pants successfully made it through two security checkpoints at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, including being pulled aside for pat-down.

In response to the incident, the TSA released a statement: "TSA regularly conducts covert testing of its security layers. Regardless of the test's outcome TSA officers are provided with immediate on-the-spot feedback so that they gain maximum training value that the drills offer."

The questions is, how did this happen? Fox News contributor Juan Williams and Washington Free Beacon reporter Lachlan Markay reacted this morning on America's Newsroom.

Markay said, "It's sort of a chilling reminder

that we can't always be relying solely on airport security to be keeping us safe." He went on to say, "If the administration tries to sort of play this off as a result of the sequestration cuts that went into effect recently, take note that this happened on February 25th, so actually before sequestration went into effect."

Williams thinks the TSA is on the defensive. "I think that's why this week they allowed the small knives, the lacrosse sticks, the baseball bats, because they don't want to antagonize the public and make the public feel that they are too put upon [...] But if they're not getting a guy with a bomb in his pants, what the hell are they doing?" he said.

With all the money going into the TSA, are the screening procedures are effective? Watch the discussion:
