Federal Workers Owe $3.5 Billion in Back Taxes! Laura Ingraham Says This Is an Example of 'Why People Don't Trust Gov't'
In her weekly appearance on Fox and Friends, Laura Ingraham discussed President Obama's apparent efforts to reach out to Republicans on budget issues, Paul Ryan's latest budget plan and a new report showing federal employees owe
$3.5 billion in taxes. In addition, White House staffers have an unpaid tax bill of more than $300,000 while Congressional staffers owe a grand total of $10.8 million in back taxes.
Steve Doocy asked whether this is really consistent with President Obama's message that everyone needs to pay their fair share in taxes. Ingraham said this report is just one example of why more and more Americans are saying they don't trust the government and are tuning out politicians.
She pointed out that even former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner "blew off tax obligations so of course these guys at the White House are going to have tax troubles."
"The sacrifice that has to happen in the United States happens in the hinterlands. All the working people outside of government have to keep sacrificing to fund the government, where people don't pay their taxes," said Ingraham.
