Ann Coulter: Boston Attack 'Shows We Need Better Immigrants'

Tonight on Hannity, Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity discussed the issue of immigration after the Boston bombing attacks. Hannity noted that the FBI plans to interview the widow of the older Boston bombing suspect who was killed in a fire fight with police.

Katherine Russell reportedly met the suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in 2010 and converted to Islam. Russell’s attorney said she didn’t suspect her husband of anything.

Coulter reacted, “I don’t care if she knew about this. She ought to be in prison for wearing a hijab.”

She went on to say, “This immigration policy of, you know, us assimilating immigrants into our culture isn’t really working. No, they’re assimilating us into they’re culture.”

Hannity responded, “Your point is well taken in this sense. […] We went back to a pre-9/11 mentality where the Saudis are […] doing our own vetting for us in terms of who’s getting into the country.”

The Fox News host said that “we can make a safe assumption” that people who grew up under Sharia law have been radicalized. “I think allowing foreign students into the country without investigative background checks that are exhaustive is a mistake and it’s putting Americans at risk.”

Coulter agreed, saying, “[...] Immigration policy is supposed to be to make your country better, not to make it worse and create all these problems. […] I’m thinking this shows how we need better immigrants.”

Regarding the news that the second suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was read his Miranda rights today, Coulter said, “If we’re not going to talk to him and get any information about the cell, about any foreign influence, […] they should’ve just kept shooting when they caught him in the boat. Just get him an automatic death penalty there.”
