Megyn Kelly Calls Out DOJ for Tracking Movements of Fox News Reporter

After another troubling report about the Justice Department's crackdown on media leaks, Megyn asks, "how many times has this happened?"

We're learning more by the minute following an explosive report by the Washington Post about the Justice Department monitoring the movements of Fox News Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen. The DOJ was reportedly looking into Rosen's visits to the State Department, via his security badge, in addition to obtaining search warrants for his personal phone and emails. It all stemmed from a leak by someone in the State Department to Rosen for a report on North Korea in 2009.

Shannon Bream reported the latest on the case on America Live, saying Rosen was not informed that he was being monitored, just like in the AP phone records scandal.

Megyn Kelly noted that in both cases, the DOJ went around the notification requirement by using an exception for national security. In order to obtain the subpoenas to track Rosen, the DOJ had to tell a judge they were investigating a possible criminal conspiracy.

"How many times has this happened? How many news agencies have been targeted? How many reporters have been targeted?" Megyn asked, pointing out that when the AP story broke last week, Attorney General Eric Holder defended the DOJ's action by calling the original leak was one of the worst he had ever seen.

"Well, is this one of the worst too?" Megyn asked. "Because you did the same thing to James Rosen!"
