How Do You Solve a Problem Like the Gov't?

(FNC)

Bill O’Reilly doesn’t think the Obama administration really wants to get to the bottom of the controversies plaguing Washington, D.C. In tonight’s Talking Points Memo, the Factor host said it seems the administration doesn’t want to tell “we, the people” what happened in Benghazi, how the IRS spun out of control, and what exactly the feds are doing with Americans’ emails and phone records.

“We are being stonewalled,” he asserted.

O’Reilly backed up his claims with a clip of James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, testifying that the NSA doesn’t collect data on millions of Americans. Then there’s FBI director, Robert Mueller, who’s in charge of finding out why the IRS targeted conservative groups. Mueller told a congressional oversight committee he didn’t know who was leading the investigation.

“Are you kidding me?!” O’Reilly reacted. “If Mueller doesn’t know specifics about the IRS investigation it’s because he doesn’t want to know. It’s the old deniability deal. ‘Gee, I don’t know anything about it, even though I’m in charge.’”

Where have we heard that excuse before? O’Reilly pointed to Attorney General Eric Holder saying, “I don’t know,” when asked about the Justice Department snooping on reporters. He called it an “insult to the intelligence of all Americans.”

The Factor host explained that since the Obama administration won’t investigate the controversies, it’s up to Congress to act. “We can’t rely on the FBI, the CIA, the IRS or anybody else in the federal bureaucracy to tell us the truth.”
