Malkin Slams Jim Carrey for Boycotting His Own Movie Over Gun Violence

Actor Jim Carrey tweeted Sunday that after the Sandy Hook massacre, he can not "in good conscience" promote his new movie "Kick-Ass 2" because of the violence that it contains.

Leftist, Anti-Gun Group Mourning the Death of This Terrorist?!

Mark Millar, creator of the comic book series that "Kick Ass" is based upon, said he is "baffled" by Carrey's stance on the film, saying the violence in the sequel shouldn't have come as any surprise

A few months ago, Carrey came under fire for his"cold dead hands" parody song about former NRA president Charlton Heston on "Funny or Die." Critics noted that Carrey had starred in movies containing guns and violence in the past.

Megyn Kelly and Michelle Malkin discussed Carrey's change of heart on America Live this afternoon, and both wondered why Carrey is coming out about gun control now, but never said anything about mass shootings like Columbine and Virginia Tech.

Malkin said she agrees that America needs to have a discussion about the effects of violence in movies and video games, but believes Carrey's advocacy on the issue of gun control is "phony."

"It really underscores just how expedient his anti-gun pose and posture and theater has been over the last several months," said Malkin, calling Carrey's ant-gun arguments "hyper-hypocritical."

Malkin said it looks like Carrey is blatantly trying to "cover his you know what" following the Charlton Heston video.
