Bradley Manning Sentenced to 35 Years for Leaking U.S. Secrets
Military Judge Col. Denise Lind sentenced Army Pfc. Bradley Manning to 35 years behind bars on Wednesday morning. Manning was charged with leaking U.S. military and diplomatic documents to WikiLeaks.
His sentencing followed last month's conviction in which Manning was found guilty of 20 crimes, including six violations of the Espionage Act. Judge Lind did, however, acquit Manning of the most serious charge leveled against him: aiding the enemy. A conviction on that charge could have meant life in prison without parole.
In today's sentencing, Manning could have received up to 90 years behind bars. Stay tuned to Fox News Channel for more reaction as this story develops.
