Too Harsh? 12-Year-Old Girl Arrested for Bullying
A 12-year-old girl from Stamford, Connecticut was arrested for bullying. The girl is accused of picking on a female classmate so badly that she considered suicide. The 12-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct.
Was this the right move, or did cops go too far?
This morning on Fox & Friends, Fox News legal analyst Arthur Aidala argued that the police department acted outside of their jurisdiction. He said this is a role for educators and parents.
Defense attorney Jonna Spilbor disagreed. “In this day and age, I don’t think the cops have gone far enough.”
Spilbor believes it’s the parents who are at fault. She called for the parents to be arrested so that they can be taught "how to do their job."
“You don’t want kids to feel comfortable in the criminal justice system,” Aidala fired back. “That should be a taboo that they’re terrified of, not something they’re indoctrinated into at 12 years old.”
