Eyewitness: Gov’t Knew Benghazi Attack Was Imminent

As seen on Fox and Friends

One of the top security officials on the ground during the Benghazi attack broke his silence on last night’s “60 Minutes,” saying the U.S. government knew that an attack was imminent and didn’t do anything about it.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry demanding answers about why the warnings were ignored. He joined Fox and Friends this morning and called the attack “foreseeable.”

“Warnings were made to State Department in Washington and a cry for help was made by the ambassador. Those cries for help were not responded to.”

McCaul detailed what eyewitnesses encountered when arriving in Benghazi.

“What they saw when they got to Benghazi before 9/11 were the black flags of Al Qaeda flying, they saw the Red Cross […] attacked, the British ambassador – an assassination attempt on him.” McCaul outlined that the plans to attack the U.S. Consulate were actually even put on the internet.

On Happening Now this morning, Adam Housley reported further details on the latest account of the Benghazi attack.
