'He Recited the Bible': Palin Sounds Off on 'Duck Dynasty' Controversy

As seen on Hannity

Sarah Palin sounded off last night on Hannity on the controversy surrounding Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty.

The patriarch of the Robertson family has been indefinitely suspended from the hit show by A&E over some anti-gay comments he made to GQ.

Robertson has drawn harsh criticism from LGBT groups after labeling gays as sinners, citing his deeply held religious beliefs.

Now the future of the top-rated cable show is in doubt, with the family saying they "cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm."

Palin has joined with other prominent conservatives to argue that this is an issue of free speech, believing that Robertson has the right to express his religious beliefs.

"So many American families have spilled blood and treasure to guarantee Phil Robertson and everybody else's right to voice their personal opinions. And once that freedom is lost, everything is lost in our country," she said.

She called out the "quacks" at A&E, saying if they let the Robertsons go then another network will snatch the show up in a heartbeat.

Hannity pointed out that Robertson expressed a "pretty traditional view" of homosexuality from a Christian standpoint, asking whether this is another example of liberals trying to be "the thought police."

"He was reciting a part of the gospel. The liberal left must feel that the gospel, then, is insulting and offensive because Phil was just repeating what was in the Bible," said Palin.

Watch the full discussion above, and check out Hannity tonight at 10p/1a ET as the Duck Dynasty debate continues!
