Navy Veteran's Leg Saved by Medical Breakthrough
Navy Corpsman Edward Bonfiglio nearly lost his leg when his patrol was ambushed in Afghanistan in 2009. Thanks to a medical breakthrough in technology, doctors were able to repair his destroyed nerve, avoiding amputation.
Bonfiglio told his story this morning on Fox and Friends. He was joined by Jill Schiaparelli, from the company Axogen, Inc., which is the biotech company that repaired his leg.
Tomorrow, Bonfiglio will be on the Donate Life Float at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. He’s also training for the Paralympics.
