Dozens Injured in Train Derailment Under Chicago's O'Hare Airport
At least 39 people were injured this morning in a train derailment beneath Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
Garrett Tenney reported from the scene this morning as investigators try to piece together why the commuter train jumped the tracks at around 3 a.m. local time.
The train ended up careening through the platform and into escalators with 50 people onboard. Most of the injures are considered minor.
Passengers reported that the train never slowed down as it came into the station.
Luckily the incident happened during one of the slowest times at the airport. No one was struck by the train or trapped underneath.
