War on Easter? Atheist Group’s Sign Reads ‘Jesus Christ Is a Myth’

An atheist group has sparked outrage with a sign at the Wisconsin Capitol that reads, “Nobody died for our ‘sins,’ Jesus Christ is a myth.”

The Freedom From Religion Foundation posted the sign to counter an Easter display put up by the Concerned Women for America. The display features a cross and conservative materials that include anti-abortion literature.

Faith and Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed said that the sign is a form of speech, and he defends the right to free speech even when he finds it “repugnant.” However he said the sign is one of “contempt” and is demeaning.

“I would certainly hope that people would show more respect for and deference on this most high and holy week […] but unfortunately, Greta, we crossed that line a long time ago,” he said.
