Romney: Obama's Decisions in Iraq Have Left Us With 'Very Poor Options'

Mitt Romney joined Neil Cavuto this afternoon to weigh in on a range of issues, including the VA problems, growing violence in Iraq, Hillary Clinton's "dead broke" remark, and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's shocking primary loss.

Obama: Military Looking at All Options to Deal With 'Emergency' in Iraq

As Islamic militants overrun key Iraqi cities in the north and west and move toward Baghdad, Romney believes the situation is a direct result of President Obama's policies, including failing to act in Syria and not negotiating an agreement to leave U.S. forces behind in Iraq.

"All these decisions made in the past puts us in a very difficult position now. Frankly, with very poor options. This is the consequence of a president that did not take the right actions at the time opportunity presented itself," he said, arguing that Obama's polices are resulting in "crises all over the world."

He lamented a recent comment by former Polish president Lech Walesa, who said the U.S. is no longer the leader of the world.

He then called out Hillary Clinton for the "clueless" remark in which she said that she does not believe five Taliban leaders released from Guantanamo Bay pose a threat to the U.S.

Romney believes Clinton is going to have a tough time defending her record as secretary of state if she runs for president.

"There’s almost not a place in the world that’s better off because of her leadership in the State Department. Look at what’s happening in Nigeria, in Iraq in Afghanistan, in Libya. Look what China is doing in the South China Sea. All over the world a policy of weakness and a combination that came from the Obama and Hillary Clinton team is one that’s led to serious and negative results and she’s going to have to account for that," said Romney.

At the end of the interview, Cavuto insisted that he gets a lot of emails from people who want the former Massachusetts governor to run for president again.

Romney insisted, however, that he is not interested in another run.

Romney also assessed the options for trying to fix the Department of Veterans Affairs. He said he has not been approached about heading up the VA when asked by Cavuto.

"There’s some good folks that have run large hospital organizations of various kinds. We ought to tap one of them," he suggested, adding that right now he's focused on trying "to get America strong again."
